About Us

Hi muñequita! ♡ My name is Yasmeen, I am a professional makeup artist and the founder of Muñeca Mala Beauty. I am a first-generation Salvadoran-American and proud daughter of parents from El Salvador.

Growing up, I learned the importance of resilience, community, and honoring where you come from. As a Latina, I know what it feels like to search for representation and to wonder if there's space for those who look like us, dream like us, and come from backgrounds like ours. 

I often felt caught between cultures, unsure of where I fit, and rarely saw beauty brands that reflected my experiences or celebrated people like me with authenticity and depth. I wanted to create more than a beauty brand, I wanted to build a community where everyone feels seen, celebrated, and empowered to embrace exactly who they are.

I earned my Bachelor's degree in Business Administration from California State University, Northridge and Master of Innovation and Entrepreneurship at the UC Irvine Paul Merage School of Business. I introduced projects and ventures spotlighting underrepresented voices while continuing to grow my mission of giving back to the community.

Muñeca Mala was created to celebrate individuality, culture, and the unique stories that shape us in an impactful way. My hope is to create a space where beauty isn't about fitting into a societal standard, but about highlighting your authentic self - your heritage, your ambitions, your creativity, and your voice.
